If there is anything that I have learned about learning that I would value as the most important, it would be the fact that I enjoy learning. We hear all this talk about how kids hate school and they just want to stay home or be free, but I never really thought that way. I mean, sure, the homework is a bit of a nuisance and sometimes lessons can get a bit dry, but to be completely honest, I don’t mind school. In fact, I like it. Not only does it give us a chance to interact and socialize, it also teaches us valuable lessons whether they be academic, moral or social. To me, gaining knowledge simply appeals to me in a way that doesn't to others. |
I cannot really recall when I first realized that I enjoy learning, but regardless, I am glad that it did come to my attention. If not, I wouldn’t have taken up several opportunities that were presented to me. For example, in the past I have participated in many summer camps that involved learning and experimenting with my ideas. These camps were the highlights of my summer. Because I learned that I loved to learn, I was able to make solar powered cars, build robots, play with lasers and so much more at these camps.
All in all, I hope that in the future I will enjoy what I am learning just as much as I do now, and have in the past. If that wish is fulfilled, I know that the rest of my high school career as well as college, will be a wonderful experience.
